Public History Presentations: Latino Communities in Southern California

Nichol Roe: Spring 2013: History 538: CSUSM

Welcome!

Welcome to a unique collection of public history representations which highlight Latino Communities throughout Southern California. Each section discusses a unique public history presentation from a different perspective. “Rancho Guajome Adobe” provides a short synposis of the “experience” you can expect at this historical landmark. “Fiesta Old Town Cinco de Mayo” is a “critique” of the event as a public history presentation. “Chicana Activism: Jessie de la Cruz” provides research on a Latina that is often left out of Southern California’s public history and the “Concept” portion of this site is my idea for how we¬†might increase¬†the public’s knowledge of her.
